THE DETAILS

Ayurveda

This 5,000-year-old system of wellness and healing was originally developed in India. While Western medicine focuses on healing sick people, Ayurveda focuses on keeping people healthy.  Ayurveda will use diet, lifestyle, herbs, cleansing techniques, counseling, and spiritual practices to help restore balance to the client.

Ayurveda holds that each human being is made up of the 5 elements: earth, air, space, fire, and water. These elements combined make up the Doshas: Pitta, Kapha, and Vatta. A person’s Dosha comprises the biology that affects how our bodies function in daily life.

This system utilizes a comprehensive mind-body-spirit approach to balancing the Doshas by first identifying the client’s specific Dosha combination, educating them on how to specifically alter their diet to best balance and harmonize their Dosha, suggesting herbal supplements, cleansing and offering other healing treatments as needed.

By focusing on mental, physical, and spiritual balance, Ayurveda has become a robust player in the medicine world, not only preventing illness, but improving long-term whole health.
